Species Summary
Known Summary
The Minmorans are the Alliance’s beasts of burden and war. Towering, fur-covered, and horned — the minotaurs of old myth made real — they are a brute-strong terrestrial people from the world of Minmor. They are also a slave species, held under the control of the Mordechai, who set them to labor, to frontline combat, and to the taming of the colossal living ships known as Leviathans. They accept their subordinate place, though the truth of their relationship with their masters is more complicated than either side admits.
Physiology & Strength
Minmorans stand between 2.2 and 3 meters tall — roughly seven to ten feet — and weigh six to eight hundred pounds. Their muscular frames are covered in fur, crowned with bovine-like horns, and armed with heavy jaws and powerful limbs. Their raw strength is formidable enough to wield weaponry built for space fighters, and to move as living machinery aboard vessels no ordinary crew could handle.
Culture & Society
The Minmorans are not a people of sophistication or technology. Their civilization is built on brute strength and survival, on labor and combat rather than invention. They live in tribal communities where strength alone decides hierarchy, and their traditions prize collective power over intellectual advancement.
Servitude to the Mordechai
Within the Alliance, the Minmorans belong to the Mordechai. They are worked as labor, spent as soldiers, and relied upon to operate Leviathans — and they are regarded, for all of that, as expendable. The Minmorans accept their status; the Mordechai take it for granted. Beneath that accepted order runs a more complicated current, the kind that subjugation always breeds.
The Taming of Leviathans
For all their brutishness, the Minmorans possess one rare and vital gift: they can tame and pilot the Leviathans, the colossal ships of the deep. Where finer species would be overwhelmed, Minmoran strength and nerve can master these vast vessels, turning them to war, transport, and resource extraction. It is this, more than anything, that makes a slave species indispensable.
Strategic Assessment
The Minmorans matter most in the Kres system, where their strength and their command of Leviathans make them a genuine military and industrial asset. But a subjugated people is also a lever. To the United Federation of Nations, the Minmorans represent both raw power in Alliance hands and a fault the Alliance would rather no rival examine — for a slave that learns its own worth is the first crack in any empire.
