Subject Summary
Known Summary
The Hegemony of the Vorath is a coalition within a coalition — one of the principal governments layered beneath the Alliance’s command, binding together a set of species united by a common inheritance: descent, in myth and perhaps in fact, from the ancient visitors of the Ancient Astronaut age. The Mordechai answer to it; the Viakunthians were pressed into it; and beneath its banner gather peoples whose ancestral gifts make the Hegemony one of the Alliance’s sharpest instruments.
Structure & Standing
The Alliance is not a single monolith but a layered order, and the Hegemony of the Vorath is one of the powers that rule beneath its umbrella. By the end of Epsilon, even the Mordechai — the Alliance’s fighting force — exist under the Hegemony of the Vorath, a measure of just how much real authority the Coalition has gathered to itself.
A Coalition of Ancient Blood
What binds the Hegemony’s members is a shared thread of ancestry, traced back to the ancient extraterrestrial visitors of the Ancient Astronaut age and the advanced technologies, philosophies, and skills that inheritance left behind. Each member species carries a fragment of that old power, and the Coalition is the sum of those fragments.
Member Species
Among the peoples gathered under the Hegemony’s banner are the Elysari, ethereal psychics and peerless strategists; the Tyrthians, warriors of ancient martial tradition; the Zaltharians, master engineers and shipwrights; and the Orinthians, bird-like navigators and pathfinders. To these are joined the pressed-in Viakunthians and the Mordechai who now sit beneath the Coalition’s command.
Strategic Assessment
The Hegemony of the Vorath is where the Alliance’s real power layers and hides. To understand the Coalition is to understand how the Alliance actually rules — and where its fractures run: in the coerced Viakunthians, in the subjugated peoples beneath it, and in the ambitions of a Coalition strong enough that even the Mordechai now answer to it. For the United Federation of Nations, the Hegemony is both a measure of Alliance strength and a map of where it might one day break.
