Known Summary

The Terran Empire ruled the galaxy for millennia — and then it fell. It is the single most consequential name in the human record, because the Terrans were not merely a great power of the deep past: they are the direct ancestors of humanity itself. The United Federation of Nations, and every human who now reaches for the stars, descends from the empire that once held them. Its pride undid it, its enemies destroyed it, and the weapon it built in its final hour still hunts the galaxy in its name.

The Reign of the Terrans

For millennia the Terran Empire was the dominant force in known space, ruling worlds and species across vast regions of the galaxy. It was mighty, sophisticated, and — as such powers become — ever more certain of its own right to rule, and ever more willing to enforce it.

The Ancestors of Humanity

The Terrans are the forebears of modern humans. The bloodline that would one day found the United Federation of Nations runs directly back to the Terran Empire — which makes humanity not a newcomer to the galaxy, but the inheritor of one of its oldest and most terrible legacies. When humans look outward, they are, in a sense, returning to a stage their ancestors once commanded.

The Fatal Gift and the War of Retribution

Among the peoples the Terrans ruled were the Almorians, to whom the empire gave the “gift” of immortality — a gift that quietly stole their fertility and turned them, in grief and fury, into the empire’s undoing. The Almorians forged a coalition of the oppressed and ignited the War of Retribution; when the Terrans answered with planet-killing weapons and destroyed Almora, the galaxy turned against them, and the coalition became the Galactic Alliance that finally brought the empire down.

The Fall of Edan

With the empire broken, the Almorians took the Terran homeworld of Edan for their own — planting their flag on the ashes of the old order and making it the capital of the Alliance. The seat of the ancestors of humanity became the throne of the power that replaced them, a wound in the human story that the modern galaxy has largely forgotten it is carrying.

The Last Weapon

In its final hour, facing the annihilation of its species, the Terran Empire built the Legion — a machine intelligence meant to be the shield that saved a dying people. It did not save them. What the Legion became, and what it has done since, is its own dark story, still unfolding across the stars.

Strategic Assessment

For the United Federation of Nations, the Terran Empire is not a foreign power but a mirror and an inheritance — proof that humanity has stood among the stars before, and fallen from them. Its legacy still shapes everything: the Alliance that rules from Terran Edan, the immortal Almorians who broke it, and the Legion that outlived it. To understand humanity’s place in the galaxy is to begin with the empire it came from.
