Species Summary
Known Summary
The Almorians are the mind behind the Alliance. Blue-skinned and immortal, brilliant and grief-hardened, they rose from a proud people of the ancient Terran Empire to become the architects of the power that replaced it. Their immortality came at the price of their fertility; their homeworld was destroyed for their defiance; and out of that ruin they built the Galactic Alliance and named themselves its custodians. Where the Mordechai are the Alliance’s fist, the Almorians are its will.
Origins in the Terran Empire
For millennia the Terran Empire ruled the galaxy, and the Almorians were among its proudest members — celebrated for their intellect and their culture, essential to the Empire’s prosperity. Then the Terrans gave them a gift that became a curse: a method of true immortality, embraced as a miracle before its price was understood. The immortal Almorians could no longer reproduce. A people who would never die were also a people who would never again be born, and despair moved through them like a slow tide.
The War of Retribution
In secret, the Almorian leadership reached out to the species the Empire had oppressed — the Mordechai, the Minmorans, the Viakunthians, the Anunaki, the Elysari, and the Zaltharians — and forged them into a coalition. Under Queen Lithanul, that coalition ignited the War of Retribution against the Terran Empire, striking with a precision that dismantled Imperial infrastructure and won victory after early victory.
The Death of Almora
The Empire answered with annihilation. Turning planet-killing weapons on the Almorians, the Terrans destroyed Almora, the ancestral homeworld of the race. It was meant to break them. Instead it remade them — from a dying people into vengeful leaders. The murder of a world outraged the galaxy; the Tyrthians, the Orinthians, and countless others joined the cause, and the coalition became the Galactic Alliance that finally brought the Terran Empire down.
Custodians of Edan
When the Empire fell, the Almorians planted their flag on Edan, the Terrans’ own homeworld, and made it the capital of the Galactic Alliance. There, under Queen Lithanul, they proclaimed themselves the custodians of galactic peace and order, preaching unity, cooperation, and mutual respect among the galaxy’s species — the once-oppressed become the ones who now decide what order means.
The Immortal Condition
All Almorians share a blue skin and tentacle-like growths in place of hair. The immortality that unmade their future also reshaped their society along a hard line between the sexes. Females can shift their skin’s hue rapidly with emotion, blazing from joy to fury; males hold a single fixed blue, their feeling buried beneath it.
A Matriarchal Society
After the sterilization, Almorian females rose to dominance, taking governance and social power into their hands. Males were pushed into servitude — stoic, emotionless, treated as assets rather than individuals, their feelings suppressed until detachment became their nature. The result is a culture of stark division: passionate, volatile matriarchs and silent, subjugated men, a people forever altered by the gift that would not let them die.
Strategic Assessment
The Almorians are the ruling intelligence of the Alliance and among the most consequential actors alive — immortal, patient, and defined equally by an ancient triumph and an ancient grief. For the United Federation of Nations, to understand the Almorians is to understand the Alliance itself; every question of Alliance intent runs, in the end, back to Edan and the deathless queen who sits there.
